Visiting Clinicians and Rotations
BostonSight is honored to educate future medical professionals. Each year Cornea Fellows and Optometry Residents come to BostonSight to be educated in the latest in treatment of corneal disease and to join our medical staff in cutting-edge clinical research on saving sight.
BostonSight® is a clinical site for the New England College of Optometry (NECO) Cornea and Contact Lens residency program. We host contact lens residents for one day each week during their residency. Optometry residents are taught basic features of prosthetic device customization. As the skill set of each resident advances, they have more opportunities to assess patients during consultation and begin the device customization process. In addition, NECO residents completing their ocular surface diseases residency at the Boston VA Hospital visit us to observe BostonSight PROSE treatment and its impact.
BostonSight is a clinical site for the School of Optometry, MCPHS (Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences) University 4th year clinical externship rotation program. We host four 4th year Optometry students on a quarterly basis Monday through Friday throughout the academic year. Optometry students are trained and supervised as they further their optometric clinical skills and are taught the basic features of prosthetic device customization.
