PROSE treatment and scleral lens success are supported through co-management between a patient’s referring physician and the PROSE treatment or scleral lens provider to ensure the patient’s underlying condition is continually monitored. As a practicing ophthalmologist, Dr. Daniel C. Brocks, BostonSight’s Chief Medical Officer, recognizes the limited education ophthalmology residents receive on scleral lenses to manage ocular surface disease. In response, BostonSight launched introductory training for ophthalmology residents.
In these virtual and live sessions, Dr. Brocks outlines the use of PROSE treatment and scleral lenses to raise awareness and help residents prepare for co-management cases with scleral lens practitioners.
Often we see patients later in their treatment journey, having endured medications or surgeries that have not relieved their suffering or improved their sight. By educating ophthalmologists and optometrists about scleral lenses, these patients could receive treatment sooner and experience the benefits that scleral lenses and PROSE treatment can provide.”— Dr. Daniel C. Brocks, Chief Medical Officer, BostonSight
