About Education and Research
Research and Medical Education
One of the key strategies that Boston Foundation for Sight utilizes to help us achieve our mission is conducting cutting-edge clinical research and technological innovation in the design, manufacture and application of custom prosthetic devices that replace and/or enhance the function of the ocular surface ecosystem.
Continuing Medical Education
Boston Foundation for Sight is honored to educate future medical professionals. Each year Cornea Fellows and Optometry Residents come to BFS to be educated in the latest in treatment of corneal disease, and they join our medical staff in cutting-edge clinical research on the next generation of tools in the fight against these insidious diseases of the ocular surface system. We also offer an intensive nine-week BostonSight™ PROSE Clinical Fellowship for optometrists at PROSE provider locations.
We are proud to share that BFS Medical Director Deborah S. Jacobs, MD, is the new President-Elect of the Contact Lens Association of Ophthalmologists (CLAO), where she
currently serves as Scientific
Program Chair. Congratulations Dr. Jacobs!
